I had a red eared slider that i put in my outside pond, it disappeared when cold weather set in, much to my suprise, as I had never had turtles and this was something my husband brought home because it was cute. when the weather warmed up, imagine my shock, thinking the turtle stolen, when bleary eyed I took my coffee outside to enjoy the morning ?..and ther was george the red eared slider demanding to be fed!!
I don?t think you need worry, I found out it is quite natural for them to hibernate, the young one will be ok
